Laine Holman
of Holmanart Studio lives in the woods in the heart of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains with her husband and five of their six children. As a lifelong proponent of natural living and an avid recycler, it was an easy decision to join Tortuga Sea in their mission to protect sea turtles and clean up the environment, starting at home with cleaning up our local rivers which drain to the Pacific Ocean.
When Laine learned about the struggles that sea turtles go through, and that only one hatchling out of every thousand survives to adulthood, the phrase, “One in a Thousand” stood out as a powerful mantra to her. Protecting that precious “one” is the focus and inspiration behind the images she now creates exclusively through Tortuga Sea’s “One in a Thousand” line of products and art prints.
We love the imagery that this message portrays. Sea Turtles are symbols of longevity and tenacity and are an example to us all to keep moving forward as we confront challenges in our own lives.
